About the Role:

As a Junior Merchandiser, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end product and production lifecycle — from sourcing and development to production execution and timely delivery. You will work closely with Design, Production, and Vendor partners to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and smooth launches of collections.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Source fabrics, trims, raw materials, and accessories in collaboration with Design and Production teams.
  • Coordinate with local and regional vendors for sampling, quotations, MOQs, lead times, and production follow-ups.
  • Support vendor negotiations and commercial discussions to optimize cost while maintaining quality standards.
  • Assist in product costing and gain exposure to FOB calculations under senior merchandising guidance.
  • Track production costs and ensure adherence to budgets and timelines.
  • Manage production schedules and monitor order progress to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Communicate quality standards, specifications, and fit requirements to vendors and manufacturers.
  • Maintain and update the fabric and trims library with details on pricing, colors, and timelines.
  • Work cross-functionally with Design, Production, and Planning teams to support smooth collection launches.
  • Identify and resolve sourcing or production-related issues proactively to minimize delays.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and manufacturing partners.
  • Stay updated on market trends, fabric innovations, and customer preferences.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 1-3 years of merchandising experience in Export Houses or Retail/E-commerce companies.
  • Educational background in Fashion, Textile, or Merchandising.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing, fabrics, trims, and merchandising systems.
  • Experience handling merchandising and production for Knits and Wovens is preferred. 
  • Assisted in handling FOB calculations and commercial costing under senior merchandising guidance.
  • Understanding of Indian pattern making and garment fits.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel for costing, tracking, and analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and solution-driven.
