Description: Create a welcoming atmosphere for clients, assessing their beauty needs and giving advice, feedback, and guidance. A key element of this role is listening attentively to client requests and performing beauty services that fit client goals.
We are searching for a skilled cosmetologist to join our expanding staff. In this position, it is your responsibility to provide clients with a wide variety of beauty services. These will include applying color, styling hair, and doing manicures and pedicures, among other things. To do well in this role, you will need to be familiar with a wide variety of beauty techniques, tools, and products. You should know enough about the beauty products that you use to teach your clients how to begin using them for themselves in the correct way.
This position will require you to complete some administrative tasks in addition to your direct work with clients. These will involve keeping your tools and working area tidy and sanitary.
This position is part-time and pay is $12 an hour or commission whichever is greater.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Maintains supplies by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
Prepares hair for styling by analyzing hair condition, shampooing, and treating hair.
Conditions hair and scalp by applying treatments.
Plans desired effect by studying facial features, examining potential styles, conferring with clients, and making recommendations.
Produces the desired effect by arranging, shaping, curling, cutting, trimming,
Hair setting, relaxing treatments, lightening, coloring, smoothing, and tinting hair.
Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
Maintains safe and healthy conditions by following organization standards and legal regulations.
Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Maintains a clean station/working area.
Helps to maintain salon cleanliness during downtime including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
Experience & Skills Requirement:
Graduated from Cosmetology School and is licensed as a cosmetologist in Wisconsin.
Successful demonstration of cutting and chemical services skills to meet cosmetologist proficiency level.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients and with salon staff.
Self-starter with a clear commitment to personal growth including participation in ongoing education.
Comfortable promoting services performed on social media.
Professional presentation and commitment to personal grooming consistent with the vision of the Salon and our clients.
Ability to provide clients with many different beauty services
