Statement:
An Esthetician is a licensed skincare professional who specializes in providing beauty treatments to improve the appearance and health of the skin. They work with a variety of clients to address issues such as acne, aging, and dry or oily skin through personalized treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
Skin Analysis and Consultations:
Perform consultations with clients to assess their skin type, condition, and concerns.
Recommend appropriate skincare treatments based on individual needs (e.g., facials, microdermabrasion, chemical peels).
Suggest at-home skincare regimens, including products for daily care and advice for maintaining skin health.
Facial and Skin Treatments:
Perform facials to cleanse, exfoliate, and hydrate the skin.
Administer specialized treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or LED therapy to target skin issues like acne, aging, and pigmentation.
Extract blackheads and clogged pores when necessary, using proper sanitation and technique.
Skin Care
Education:
Advise clients on proper skincare routines, offering tips for maintaining healthy skin.
Educate clients about the effects of diet, lifestyle, and sun exposure on skin health.
Sales and Product Recommendations:
Recommend and sell skincare products (e.g., cleansers, moisturizers, serums) tailored to individual skin types.
Maintain knowledge of the latest skincare products, trends, and technologies to offer the best solutions to clients.
Sanitation and Safety:
Follow all health and safety protocols, including sanitizing equipment, tools, and treatment areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
Keep accurate client records, including their skin type, services provided, and any products recommended.
Maintain Professional Appearance and Environment:
Ensure the treatment room is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
Create a relaxing atmosphere with appropriate lighting, music, and comfort for the client.

Qualifications:
Licensing:
Must hold a valid esthetician license, which typically requires completion of a state-approved program and passing a licensing exam.
