Job Description
Blo Go Salon + Medspa:
Responsible for providing services related to the hair appearance such as cuts, color, and styling to our clients. Other treatments applied by our cosmetologists include scalp massages and waxing procedures. You may be required to check in clients as they arrive and to schedule new appointments. Our cosmetologists may also be required to answer the telephone and must have the knowledge to address any questions clients or potential clients might have.
Our Stylists must have product knowledge and be able to advise clients on which products to purchase. They will also oversee general maintenance and cleaning of the salon and all staff-only areas.
Education and Experience
- Completed proper licensing education.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Preferred: two years of experience working as a cosmetologist.

Responsibilities
- Arrive for work 10 minutes before scheduled.
- Perform all services reflective of Blo Go protocols.
- Promote and market on professional social media pages and collaborate with Blo Go social media channels.
- Analyze clients’ hair and other physical features to determine and recommend beauty treatments or hairstyles.
- Cut, trim, and shape hair based on clients’ requests, hair type and facial features, using clippers, scissors, hot tools, hair dryer, etc.
- Bleach, dye, or tint hair using an applicator or brush.
- Shape and tint eyebrows, and remove facial hair using tweezers or wax.
- Shampoo, rinse, condition, and dry hair and scalp. Massage and treat scalp for hygienic and remedial purposes.
- Develop new styles and techniques.
- Update and maintain customer information records, such as beauty services provided.
- Keep salon and workstation clean and sanitize tools such as scissors and combs.
- Advise clients and sell hair‑care products. Inform them of promotions, series, and packages.
- Maintain current product knowledge of all products sold.
- Fill up hot towel cabinet for the day upon spa opening; refill between appointments when necessary and shut down at night and when empty.
- Turn off all equipment before closing (styling tools, wax warmers, etc.).
- Process laundry, fold, and put away when time permits.
- Familiarize with all aspects of computer software and, at times, schedule, cancel, and adjust client appointments.
- Answer telephones when needed and greet clients when they walk in.
- Check in and out clients and, if necessary, rebook appointments. (Always ask if they want to re‑book.)
- Perform general housekeeping duties.
- Monitor salon equipment to ensure proper operation and maintain it in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain treatment rooms and work areas in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Participate and attend educational programs and staff meetings.
- Support Salon Floor Manager with inventory‑tracking for retail and professional products.
- Support Salon Floor Manager and COO with supply orders (Amazon, etc.) and stock inventory and supplies as needed for maintaining salon and retail areas.
- Maintain a valid cosmetology license in accordance with state regulations.
