Key Responsibilities
1. Licensing Strategy & Business Development
- Develop and execute the licensing strategy for sports partnerships aligned with the brand’s lifestyle positioning.
- Identify, evaluate, and secure licensing opportunities with sports leagues, teams, athletes, sports events, and sportswear companies.
- Build a multi‑year roadmap for brand expansion through sports collaborations.
2. Partnership Management
- Lead end‑to‑end partnership negotiations, including rights, royalties, exclusivity, and commercial terms.
- Manage relationships with sports partners to ensure alignment on brand values, product direction, and marketing execution.
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams and external sports partners.
3. Product & Category Development
- Collaborate with product, design, and merchandising teams to develop licensed product lines that reflect both the lifestyle brand and sports partner identity.
- Ensure product concepts meet licensing requirements, brand guidelines, and commercial goals.
- Oversee product approval processes with licensors.
4. Commercial & Revenue Management
- Own licensing P&L, including forecasting, budgeting, and revenue optimization.
- Monitor royalty performance, contract compliance, and financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities to expand categories, territories, and distribution channels.
5. Marketing & Activation
- Work with marketing teams to develop co‑branded campaigns, athlete collaborations, and sports‑driven storytelling.
- Ensure cohesive brand messaging across all licensed products and partnership activations.
- Drive visibility and engagement through sports events, sponsorships, and digital campaigns.
6. Cross‑Functional Leadership
- Partner with legal, finance, product, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth execution of licensing agreements.
- Provide strategic insights to senior leadership on market trends, competitor activities, and partnership opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in brand licensing, sports partnerships, or related commercial roles.
- Proven track record negotiating licensing deals with sports organizations or major IP owners.
- Strong understanding of lifestyle, fashion, sports, and consumer culture.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to manage complex projects and multiple stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive new business opportunities.
- Experience working with global brands or international sports partners is a plus.
