About the Role
We are seeking a full-time Luxury Retail Sales Associate to join our team at the AHLEM Atelier in Hayes Valley, San Francisco. This role is ideal for someone with experience in the optical industry or in premium accessories such as high-end fashion, fine jewelry, or fragrance, who is passionate about design, storytelling, and personalized service.
As a key member of the Atelier team, you will guide clients through the selection of frames and prescription lenses, helping them find eyewear that reflects their personality, visual needs, and lifestyle. A strong understanding of optical products, lens options, and fit is highly valued, as this role combines luxury retail service with optical expertise.
You will help deliver the thoughtful, couture-level experience that defines the AHLEM brand while building lasting relationships with clients and supporting the overall performance of the Atelier.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide an exceptional, client-focused experience that embodies AHLEM’s values and aesthetics
- Educate clients on our design philosophy, materials, and French craftsmanship
- Curate personalized frame and lens pairings, guiding clients through prescription lens options, lifestyle needs, and aesthetic considerations
- Build strong relationships through clienteling, follow-up, and attentive service
- Maintain visual standards and support merchandising throughout the Atelier
- Consistently meet or exceed sales goals through authentic, elevated service
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in luxury retail (eyewear, fashion, jewelry, fragrance, or cosmetics)
- A natural storyteller with strong communication and emotional intelligence
- Refined sense of style and product presentation
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable in a multi-functional boutique setting
- Tech-savvy, with proficiency in CRM and POS systems
- Passionate about design, sustainability, and the luxury client experience
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in premium or luxury retail
- High school diploma required; studies in fashion, design, or visual arts are a plus
- Optical experience or familiarity with lens selection is a plus, though not required
- Experience in the optical industry is strongly preferred and will be considered a significant advantage
