Job Description
As Manager Fabric Sourcing, you will play a pivotal role in executing seasonal and short-term sourcing plans tailored specifically for exporters, brands, and buying houses. Leveraging your deep understanding of fabric sourcing, you’ll ensure alignment with financial goals, customer service standards, quality benchmarks, aesthetic preferences, safety regulations, and terms-of-engagement requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute seasonal and short-term sourcing plans with a focus on denim fabrics, 100% cotton grey fabrics, yarn dyed fabrics, bottom-weight fabrics, 100% cotton GOTS fabrics, BCI fabrics, and 100% Tencel fabrics, ensuring alignment with financial objectives, customer service standards, and quality benchmarks.
Communicate capacity and price requirements to meet margin and delivery targets.
Provide alternative sourcing options to merchandising/design teams to meet commercial requirements at the most competitive cost.
Identify opportunities to leverage a library of components, fits, and sources to optimize sourcing strategies.
Oversee product execution from sketch to delivery, including exploring fabrication alternatives and managing sample processes.
Develop, manage, and coach a high-performing vendor team to ensure current and future business needs are met.
Take accountability for “Go To Market” activities, including tracking adoption rates and ensuring timely delivery of samples to meet required targets.
Analyze and calculate procurement costs, recommending methods to decrease expenditure.
Qualifications & Experience:
3-4 years of proven work experience in Sourcing and Product Development with a leading garment exporter, buying house, brand, and international buying offices.
Familiarity with sourcing, vendor management, and relevant categories within the textile industry.
Strong understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgment to make informed sourcing decisions.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and sustain networking relationships with suppliers.
Comfortable with data analysis and interpretation, with a keen eye for detail.
A B-Tech in textiles or a related field is preferred.
