With a vibrant storefront in Chapin, SC, and a strong online presence, we pride ourselves on offering unique items while engaging with our community through events and social media.
Summary
We’re looking for a reliable, outgoing, pet-loving person to help us represent Modern Companion at Soda City Market in downtown Columbia on Main Street and other markets across South Carolina.
We’ve been a vendor at Soda City Market since 2019, and it’s one of our favorite ways to connect with our customers face-to-face. The energy is high, the dogs are everywhere, and the conversations are constant—which is exactly why we’re looking for someone to help us manage it all.
This is a part-time, in-person role—ideal for a college student in the Columbia area but open to anyone who’s available most Saturdays and loves being part of a small, fast-paced team.
What You’ll Do:
Assist in setting up and breaking down the market booth (tent, tables, product display)
Greet customers, talk about our products, and run the register
Handle and interact with pets (must love dogs!)
Help create content for social media when there’s downtime
Occasionally help us at other pet markets and pop-ups across South Carolina like Junior League, Fall Fido Festival, etc!
If interested, opportunities to travel with us to out-of-town events too on occasion!
What We’re Looking For:
You live near or attend school in Columbia, SC
You’re friendly, comfortable in crowds, and love talking to people
You can lift ~30 lbs and help set up tents and displays
You’re dependable and show up on time
You have reliable transportation
You’re open to learning and jumping in wherever help is needed
You love supporting small businesses
Bonus: You enjoy social media or want to help create content
Position Details:
Schedule: Most Saturdays from 7:45am–2:00pm (we attend 2–3 times a month)
Location: Soda City Market, Downtown Columbia (and other events around SC)
Pay: Hourly (paid bi-monthly)
Start Date: ASAP
