Meerkat Creative is looking for a proactive Marketing and Sales Assistant to support lead generation, client follow-up, marketing campaigns, and business development activity.
This is not just a social media admin role. We’re looking for someone who is organised, confident communicating with people, and excited by the idea of helping turn conversations into real business opportunities.
You’ll work closely with our founder, Anna, helping keep leads moving, following up after events and expos, supporting email campaigns, making follow-up phone calls to warm leads, and booking discovery calls with prospective clients.
This is a great role for someone early in their career who wants hands-on experience across both marketing and sales in a creative, fast-paced business environment.

The role
As our Marketing and Sales Assistant, you’ll help support the day-to-day activity that keeps our pipeline moving.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Attending trade shows, expos, networking events, and industry events
- Collecting leads and business cards and entering them accurately into our CRM
- Organising and tagging contacts by source, industry, and stage of interest
- Sending follow-up emails after events, meetings, and campaigns
- Setting up and managing EDMs, email automations, and nurture sequences
- Monitoring opens, clicks, and replies from email campaigns
- Making follow-up phone calls to warm leads who have engaged with emails, campaigns, webinars, or other lead magnets
- Speaking with prospective clients to learn more about their business, current marketing activity, and content needs
- Helping qualify leads and booking discovery calls or digital health checks into Anna’s calendar
- Researching prospects and preparing lead lists
- Supporting outreach campaigns and re-engagement campaigns
- Updating CRM records and ensuring every lead has a clear next step
- Assisting with webinar, lead magnet, and campaign coordination
- Supporting the setup of basic Facebook lead campaigns and related marketing activity
- Preparing simple proposals, follow-up notes, or supporting sales documents
- Helping track campaign results and lead activity
- Supporting light admin related to sales and marketing activity
What we’re looking for

- Tech-savvy and quick to learn systems
- Interested in marketing, sales, business development, or communications
- Comfortable working in a small business where no two days are the same
Ideal but not essential
It would be a bonus if you have experience with any of the following:
- Phone-based sales, call centre work, appointment setting, or lead follow-up
- CRM systems
- Email marketing platforms and automations
- Lead generation or booking appointments
- Event staffing or expo work
- Basic Facebook campaign setup or paid lead generation support
- Webinar or lead magnet campaign support
- Customer service, retail, hospitality, or other people-facing roles
- LinkedIn outreach
- Marketing, communications, PR, or business studies
This role would suit someone who
- Is studying or has recently completed marketing, business, communications, PR, or a related field
- Wants real-world experience across both marketing and sales
- Enjoys talking to people and building relationships
- Likes being organised and making sure nothing falls through the cracks
- Is comfortable picking up the phone and having business conversations
- Wants to grow inside a creative business with strong commercial focus
Hours and format
- Casual / part-time role
- Flexible hours to start
- Some in-person event and expo attendance will be required
- Brisbane-based applicants preferred
