PRIMARY PURPOSE: 

Develop and strengthen TWC’s position within the Indian textile, apparel, fashion and retail sectors through strategic partnerships, business development and impactful marketing initiatives. Drive the adoption and visibility of Australian Merino wool by developing collaborative projects, marketing campaigns and industry engagement programs in partnership with brands, retailers and key stakeholders. Work closely with Woolmark’s global marketing, technical and education teams to deliver regional objectives while providing market insights and performance reporting to support future growth opportunities.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • The MPM will be responsible for managing strategic partners within India, including leading fashion, lifestyle and sporting brands, retailers and selected supply chain partners who look to TWC for partnership, expertise, inspiration, innovation and market connection.
  • The MPM is responsible for executing local business development and marketing initiatives in alignment with regional objectives and global priorities.
  • The MPM will sit at the centre of a specialised global network of marketing, technical and education experts, connecting partners with relevant Woolmark resources and ensuring effective delivery of projects and initiatives.
  • The MPM will identify and develop commercial opportunities that increase the adoption and visibility of Australian Merino wool across the Indian textile, apparel and retail sectors.
  • The MPM will lead local partnership projects and marketing activations that strengthen Woolmark’s position with industry stakeholders and consumers.
  • The MPM will support the Country Manager through market intelligence, performance reporting and identification of emerging opportunities within India and neighbouring markets.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Business Development & Partnerships

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key brand, retail and supply chain partners to increase the adoption and promotion of Australian Merino wool.
  • Identify, develop and secure new partnership opportunities that support Woolmark's strategic objectives in India.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned partners, ensuring timely support, engagement and relationship development.
  • Develop collaborative projects with partners that deliver measurable commercial outcomes and increased industry visibility for wool.
  • Represent Woolmark at industry events, trade shows, stakeholder meetings and business forums to build influence and generate opportunities.

Marketing & Project Management

  • Identify, develop and implement local marketing campaigns, partnership projects and initiatives aligned with regional and global business objectives.
  • Lead the planning, coordination and execution of trade marketing activities, retail activations, educational programs, industry engagement initiatives and partner campaigns.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, approvals, suppliers and deliverables to ensure activities are executed effectively and on schedule.
  • Work closely with global marketing teams to localise campaigns and maximise relevance and impact within the Indian market.
  • Support PR, communications, content and digital marketing initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure all marketing activities and communications are aligned with Woolmark brand guidelines and organisational standards and processes.         

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with local and global technical teams to identify opportunities where technical innovation, product performance and wool expertise can support partner objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Education Manager to develop and promote educational initiatives that increase industry knowledge and engagement with Australian Merino wool.
  • Partner with the Business Development Manager and other regional colleagues to deliver integrated projects, share market intelligence and maximise partner outcomes.

Reporting & Market Intelligence

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of partnerships, projects and marketing initiatives against agreed objectives and KPIs.
  • Gather and share market intelligence, consumer insights, industry trends and competitive developments to support strategic planning.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting within company systems, including Salesforce and other internal platforms.
  • Prepare regular reports on business development activities, partnership outcomes, project progress and marketing performance for the Country Manager and regional leadership.

 

FORMAL TRAINING / QUALIFICATION

 

  • A tertiary qualification, preferably in marketing, fashion, communications, business or a commercial-related field (relevant experience will compensate for lack of formal qualification);
  • Experience in business development, account management, marketing or commercial roles within the apparel, textile, fashion or related industries;
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage external partnerships and stakeholder relationships;
  • Experience supporting marketing campaigns, events, activations, communications or brand partnership initiatives;
  • Understanding of the apparel retail cycle and textile supply chain;
  • Strong project management and organisational skills;
  • Previous international exposure is advantageous.
  • RM and Salesforce experience preferred.

SKILLS

 

  • Strong understanding of the textile, apparel, fashion and retail industries, including key market trends, business drivers and supply chain dynamics;
  • Demonstrated capability in business development, partnership management and marketing project execution;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and influence stakeholders
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills, with the ability to establish credibility and develop long-term partnerships with premium & luxury brands and designers.
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to work effectively across multicultural and cross-functional teams, including marketing, technical, education and commercial functions;
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes within agreed timelines and budgets;
  • Commercially minded with the ability to identify opportunities, solve problems and translate insights into actionable initiatives;
  • Self-motivated, proactive and adaptable, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability;
  • High attention to detail and strong administrative discipline;
  • Proficient in Salesforce and Microsoft Office applications.
