Men’s Barber – Hourly Rate with Tips, No Rent Jobs in Arlington, VA at Washington Golf and Country Club
Responsibilities:
I. POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for providing the members and guests with service in the locker rooms and barber shop, which are gender specific, including caring for member haircuts, amenities in the Club’s locker room wet areas
II. ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Provide Barber Shop Services to the membership that include but are not limited to cuts, trims, hot shaves, beard line-ups
· Greet members and guests and ensure that member satisfaction standards are consistently attained
· Ensure the safety and security of all members and guests as needed and that all safety, accident and emergency policies and procedures are in place and consistently followed
· Maintain an inventory of supplies, including shampoo, body wash, shaving razors, mouthwash and linens
· Interact with AGM and Locker Room Manager to purchase barber shop linens and supplies as needed
· Inspect locker area to ensure proper appearance, maintenance, cleanliness and safety
– Maintain a clean, organized workplace at all times
· Resolve member and guest complaints
· Operate within budget limitations
· Make recommendations about capital budget projects that pertain to the Barbershop’s scope of work
· Attend to other duties as assigned by the Locker Room Manager
-Maintain hours in of the Barbershop that work well for the membership to utilize it best
III. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
· Ability to manage all aspects of the barber shop
· Ability to use barber equipment and provide all tools to perform their duties
· Demonstrated organization and coordination skills and ability to meet deadlines and multi-task
· Ability to maintain quality and safety standards and coordinate quality assurance programs in areas of responsibility
· Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills to a wide variety of constituents and must be fluent in English
· Excellent interpersonal/relationship-building skills
· Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
IV. Physical Demands and Work Environment
· Must be able to sit, stand, walk, squat, reach, pull, bend, stoop, twist, climb, clean, and lift up to 20 pounds; must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
· Must be able to dial, collate, file, open/close, sort, staple, fold/unfold and insert/remove
· Must be able to handle hot and cold interior and exterior conditions and exposure to dust, fumes or gases
· Must be able to work in close proximity to moving machinery
· Independent mobility
Requirements:
– Valid barbering license in the state of Virginia; must have Barbicide Certification
– Experience with straight razor shaving
– Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients
– Ability to upsell additional services and retail products
– Attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality results.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour
