Role & responsibilities:

1. Inventory Allocation & Replenishment for all Online and Offline Channels

• Allocate stock to stores based on:

• Store grading (A/B/C stores)

• Sales performance and demand patterns

• Regional preferences (e.g., metro vs tier-2 cities)

• Monitor sell-through rates and trigger replenishment.

• Maintain optimal stock levels to avoid:

• Stock-outs (lost sales)

• Overstocks (dead inventory)

2. Data Analysis & Reporting

• Track and analyse:

• Daily/weekly sales by SKU, category, and store/ Portal

• Sell-through %, Weeks of Cover (WOC), inventory ageing.

• Generate reports on:

• Fast-moving vs slow-moving styles

• Size/colour performance

3. Channel-Wise Allocation

• Manage inventory distribution across:

• Exclusive Brand Outlets (EBOs)

• Large Format Stores (LFS)

• E-commerce (own website + marketplaces)

• Balance stock between offline and online to maximize revenue.

4. New Launch & Seasonal Allocation

• Allocate new collections (festive, seasonal drops, etc.) strategically.

• Ensure:

• Adequate launch depth in top-performing stores

• Controlled exposure in low-performing stores

• Track initial sell-through and rebalance quickly.

• Share Option plan for upcoming collections with Designers.

5. Inter-Store Transfers (IST)

• Identify slow-moving stock and initiate transfers to high-performing stores.

• Optimize stock utilization across the network.

6. Coordination & Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with:

• Merchandising & Buying team

• Retail operations team

• Warehouse / Supply chain

• E-commerce team

• Align allocations with promotions, discounts, and campaigns.

7. Discounting & Liquidation Support

• Identify ageing inventory for markdowns.

• Support liquidation strategies without damaging brand positioning.

Key Metrics (KPIs)

• Sell-through %

• Stock turn / Inventory turnover.

• Weeks of Cover (WOC)

• Stock-out rate.

• Gross Margin Return on Inventory (GMROI)

• Ageing inventory %

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5-10 years' experience in merchandising / allocation (fashion, accessories preferred)

• Strong analytical skills (Excel required; knowledge of ERP tools is a plus)

• Understanding of retail KPIs and inventory planning

• Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, SKU-heavy environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in fashion accessories or handbags category

• Familiarity with platforms like:

• SAP / Oracle / Retail ERP

• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups)

• Exposure to omni-channel retail
