Company Overview:
Our client is a US-based global fashion apparel company specializing in the design, sourcing, distribution, and licensing of men’s and women’s apparel, sportswear, accessories, and lifestyle products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a merchandising team responsible for assigned menswear brands and programs.
- Manage the full merchandising cycle from product development, costing and sourcing through bulk production and shipment.
- Monitor fabric, trims, samples, WIP and T&A to ensure all development and production milestones are achieved.
- Work closely with local and overseas factories to maintain product quality, production efficiency and on-time delivery.
- Manage costing, price negotiation and supplier selection to meet target prices and business objectives.
- Source new materials, suppliers and production options to improve product competitiveness.
- Coordinate closely with Technical, QA, Product Development and other internal teams to resolve development and production issues.
- Ensure the team follows established SOPs, maintains accurate WIP records and escalates potential risks promptly.
- Coach and develop team members while managing workload and performance.
- Handle ad-hoc projects and remain hands-on in resolving operational issues.
Requirements:
- At least 15 years of merchandising experience in apparel, preferably from a buying office, sourcing office, trading company or garment manufacturer.
- Proven experience leading a merchandising team.
- Strong knowledge of woven and knit fabrics and garment manufacturing processes.
- Experience in menswear, sportswear, golf apparel, activewear, bottoms or outerwear is highly preferred.
- Strong experience in product development, costing, sourcing, T&A, WIP and production management.
- Good understanding of quality, fit and coordination with QA and Technical teams.
- Knowledge of both FOB and DDP business models is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational and leadership skills.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, hands-on and able to work under pressure.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Willing to travel domestically and internationally when required.
