Essential Job Functions
Develop annual financial budgets and in-season forecasts by Department/Class/Brand including Sales, Margin, Inventory, Turn, and IMROI that reconcile with the total Company targets.
Be the financial and business go to for cross-functional team through informed, data-driven awareness of current and future trends in the business/industry.
Efficiently create business plans to address needs, opportunities, and risks and close gaps to our overall performance.
Demonstrate logical analytical abilities, creative problem-solving skills, and financially sound judgment to deliver ad hoc analysis, conclusions, and recommendations to all levels of the organization.
Influence, impact, and accurately plan for clearance and markdown activities for Petco.
Demonstrate initiative to work both independently and in cross-functional teams while managing multiple and rapidly changing priorities.
Interact professionally and effectively through excellent written and oral communication skills to all levels of the organization.
Be a mature retail professional who is highly motivated, has a strong professional presence, and works with cross-functional teams in an effective and collaborative manner.
Partner with the Sr. Merchandise Planner, Merchandise Planning Manager, and Merchandise Director to provide ongoing strategic direction and ensure seamless execution of Budget/in-season forecast.
Partner with Manager/Director of Planning & Inventory in the review process of financial analysis and deliverables.
Ability to be flexible, multi-task, and prioritize under tight deadlines.
Required Skills And Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance, operations, economics, business, or statistics required.
2+ years of planning experience, with retail planning preferred.
Strong aptitude for retail math and analysis.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced retail environment with a strong sense of urgency required.
Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Ability to advance to intermediate to advanced Excel capabilities; preferred exposure to relevant planning, finance, analytical, and data management systems – Oracle Merchandise Financial Planning, MicroStrategy, etc.
Ability to influence critical stakeholders, proactively problem solve, and recommend solutions.
Build collaborative partnerships cross-functionally.
