As a Merchandise Planner, you will be responsible for planning and controlling the inventory of the product range to increase sales and minimize losses through proper merchandising, inventory management, and demand forecasting processes.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure effective in-season management across territories – stock transfers, markdown management, stock analysis, stock vs. sales performance, and non-moving stocks.

Build allocation strategies focused on store clusters, customer profiles, and opportunities by store. Ensure optimum inventory levels are maintained for each brand/category, keeping in mind store requirements.

Develop and publish KPI, Benchmark, and Best & Worst Seller reports that provide accurate and reliable information to the management and facilitate decision-making.

Prepare aged inventory and mark-down strategy, both in-season and end-of-season, and ensure timely resolution of liquidation.

Understand gaps in the inventory control process, perform stock consolidations, and execute replenishment in a timely manner. Work on OTBs.

Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities; compare sales data of the planned gender/category to company sales and communicate major deviations.

Conduct demand forecasting to predict future sales trends and optimize inventory planning.

Develop sales and demand forecasts aligned with business goals to ensure adequate stock levels and minimize overstock situations.

Prepare and maintain order tracking and sales comparison trackers for sales events.

Publish performance reports across all stores/brands with stakeholders.

Maintain and track non-merchandise stock levels (e.g., stationery, POSM items, etc.).

Experience and Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business management, or any related field.

Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in fashion retail, with in-depth experience in merchandising, demand forecasting, and inventory planning.

Requirements

Job Specific: Highly analytical and data-driven, comfortable working with quantitative figures.

Experience in forecasting, merchandise planning, allocation, replenishment, and financial planning processes and systems.

Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.

Team player with strong coordination and interfacing skills.

Generic Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills.
