Role Description The Merchandise Planning Manager is a FREELANCE, on-site role based in London. This role is responsible for forecasting sales, planning assortments, and managing inventory levels to ensure the right products are available at the right time. Day-to-day tasks include analysing sales and stock data, preparing weekly and seasonal performance reports, and recommending replenishment or markdown strategies. The role collaborates closely with buying, design, and sales teams to align merchandise plans with brand and commercial objectives. The Merchandise Planning Manager also helps optimize margins, supports promotional planning, and contributes to overall business growth.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and data analysis skills to interpret sales, margin, and inventory performance.
- Proficiency in merchandise planning and inventory management, including forecasting and stock control.
- Experience working with sales teams or sales data to drive commercial decisions and performance.
- Advanced skills in Excel or similar tools; familiarity with merchandising is essential.
- Relevant experience in fashion retail, ideally in a planning or merchandising role.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Degree in business, merchandising, finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
