The Role

Would you like to join a collaborative, fast paced fashion retail supplier where you will play a key role in managing customer accounts from product development all the way through to delivery? As a Merchandiser at Pentex, you’ll act as a key link between customers, our internal teams as well as our manufacturing sites, ensuring that orders are kept on track, potential risk is successfully managed and that communication is clear at all times.

Main Responsibilities

Customer Account Management

  • Manage day-to-day communication with UK customer buying, merchandising and technical teams, providing a responsive and professional supplier side service
  • Build trusted working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring actions, decisions and deadlines are followed through
  • Support Account Managers, Senior Account Managers and the Head of Merchandising with account priorities, order updates and customer requirements
  • Ensure that orders meet quality, volume and timeline metrics requested by customers

Critical paths and order management

  • Own and maintain accurate critical paths from order confirmation through to shipment, ensuring all key milestones are visible and proactively managed
  • Coordinate product development, sampling, approvals, purchase orders, production updates and delivery information across the full order lifecycle
  • Chase customer approvals, lab dips, fit comments, trims, packaging, sealing and production samples to keep orders moving in line with agreed timelines
  • Proactively scan for potential risks or delays early, escalate clearly and collaborate with relevant teams to agree practical solutions

Supplier, Factory and Production Coordination

  • Partner closely with UK teams to ensure customer requirements are fully understood, promptly actioned with attention to detail and ultimately delivered accurately
  • Follow up fabric, trims, sample status, production progress, packing requirements and shipment plans, etc. ensuring that you provide timely and accurate updates and resolutions
  • Collaborate with technical, design, production, quality and logistics teams to resolve queries with critical paths, margin and customer impact at front of mind

Commercial and System Accuracy

  • Review purchase orders and customer order details at line level, checking accuracy across style, quantity, price, delivery dates and customer requirements, etc.
  • Support costing, margin checks and order amendments, highlighting any changes that may impact profitability or delivery
  • Maintain accurate information across PLM, ERP, flow sheets, trackers and customer systems
  • Analyse year-on-year order metrics, in addition to order management and general reporting, to support customer planning and business decisions

Continuous Improvement and Team Support

  • Proactively look for ways to improve ways of working, reporting, handovers and system accuracy across the merchandising process
  • Follow up and execute actions from internal and external meetings, ensuring owners and deadlines are clear
  • Support junior team members where appropriate, sharing knowledge and helping to maintain high standards across the team

Essential Experience

  • Fluency and fluidity in verbal and written English and Bengali where you are easily able to converse in English using technical fashion terminology
  • Solid experience supporting customer buying and merchandising teams in English
  • Clear communicator who builds positive working relationships across customers, factories and internal teams
  • Strong track record in supplier side merchandising in fashion including critical path management, order processing, product approvals and production follow up
  • Experience using ERP, PLM or customer facing order management systems
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills with a history of maintaining accurate trackers and reports
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented and experience managing multiple customer accounts and deadlines
  • Commercially aware, proactive and confident escalating potential risks alongside potential solutions
