About the Role

Our Client is looking for a Merchandiser to manage stock, product availability, forecasting and trading across a fast-moving, multi-brand clothing business.

This is a hands-on, commercially focused role where you will use sales and stock data to make decisions around buying, replenishment, new product launches and markdowns. You will work closely with buying, marketing, operations and suppliers to ensure the right products are available at the right time.

Location & Working Pattern

UK: Based within approximately 40 miles of Preston, including Bolton, Blackburn, Chorley, Wigan and surrounding areas. You will work from the Preston office a couple of days per week.

International: Experienced candidates based in Indonesia, Malaysia or the wider region can be considered for a fully remote position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage stock planning across multiple brands, categories, styles and SKUs.
  • Forecast demand and ensure core and best-selling products remain in stock.
  • Plan new product drops, including line plans, quantities, size/colour ratios and phasing.
  • Analyse sell-through, rate of sale, stock cover, returns and margin to support buying decisions.
  • Manage open-to-buy budgets and balance stock availability against overstock and markdown risk.
  • Identify strong-selling products and action reorders quickly.
  • Identify slow-moving products and support markdown or exit strategies.
  • Work closely with buying, marketing and operations teams to support product launches and promotions.
  • Manage supplier and factory timelines to ensure deliveries remain on schedule.
  • Build and maintain WSSI, trade reports and availability dashboards.
  • Maintain accurate product and inventory data across internal systems.
  • Provide clear weekly trading and stock updates to the wider team.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Merchandiser / Fashion Merchandiser within clothing or fashion.
  • Experience working with ecommerce, DTC or high-volume fashion ranges is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of stock planning, forecasting, replenishment and product trading.
  • Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and data analysis.
  • Commercial understanding of sales, stock, availability, margin and markdowns.
  • Experience managing a large number of SKUs and multiple product categories.
  • Highly organised, analytical and detail-oriented.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Strong written and spoken English, particularly for remote candidates.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Shopify or ecommerce platforms.
  • Experience with WSSI / Open-to-Buy planning.
  • Demand forecasting and range planning experience.
  • Experience working with overseas suppliers and factories.
  • Experience with ERP, inventory or BI/reporting systems.

Compensation

UK: £25,000–£35,000 depending on experience.

International: £15,000–£25,000 equivalent, depending on experience.
