Robert Half’s marketing & creative client is seeking a Merchandising & eCommerce Planning Analyst for a contract opportunity in Boston, MA. This is a hybrid, 40 hour-per-week opportunity, and candidates must be willing to work onsite 3 days per week. This role is ideal for a highly analytical individual with advanced Excel skills who enjoys translating merchandising data into actionable business insights for strategic initiatives. The Merchandising & eCommerce Planning Analyst will support merchandising and planning initiatives through forecasting, reporting, inventory analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze sales, inventory, pricing, and promotional performance to identify trends and opportunities
- Manage category Open-to-Buy (OTB) plans across retail and eCommerce channels
- Build and maintain Excel-based reports, models, and dashboards
- Create recurring and ad hoc reporting to support merchandising decisions
- Partner with buying teams to evaluate assortment performance and inventory needs
- Provide recommendations on promotions, markdowns, and inventory strategies
- Support planning for sales, inventory, margins, and turns
- Monitor key business metrics and communicate insights to stakeholders
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support merchandising and eCommerce initiatives
Qualifications:
- Degree in Merchandising, Analytics, Business, or related
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis
- Experience analyzing sales, inventory, merchandising, or eCommerce data
- Ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience with SAP and/or Power BI
- Retail, consumer products, apparel, footwear, or eCommerce experience preferred
