Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Merchandising/Sales Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be the spokesperson for the merchandise strategy of the company, collaborating internally and externally, including staff, vendors, and customers, and other stakeholders. This is a key position for the company and reports to the Co-Presidents.
Creating and executing the merchandise plan is the responsibility of the Merchandise/Sales Specialist. Effective merchandising relies on the coordination and cooperation of many parts of the company requiring excellent communication and cross-functional teamwork. It drives the business goals of the company and expresses its mission and brand in everything it creates and sells.
This position will float between Merchandising, Product development & Sales and Marketing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Merchandising:
- Inventory Management
- Price/Margin/Vendor Terms
- Product Sales Forecasting
- Merchandise Analysis
- Timely delivery of purchase orders
- Researching new vendors
- Communication and negotiations with vendors and various contractors
- Execute Product development and delivery schedule
- Create initial analysis and recommend POs of new and existing products
- Prepare approved Pos
Product Development:
- Collaborate with team on new product development
- Communicate with current and potential new manufacturers
- Participate in various weekly and monthly meetings and fit sessions
Sales and Marketing:
- Collaborate with Director of Sales and Marketing on monthly selling strategy/promotional plan.
- Plan in-house photo shoot image list, prepare products for photo shoot and assist during the photo shoot.
- Select products for markdown
Preferred experience with: SkuVault, Shopify, Word, Excel, Google
Physical Demands
- Ability to do continual computer work and sit for long periods of time.
- Occasionally required to walk, stoop, bend, reach overhead
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs. on an occasional basis
- Able to manage dressing and undressing the fitting mannequins and models.
- Able to handle a variable workload with peaks and valleys.
Education, Experience, Attributes:
- A four-year degree in Merchandising of Apparel or equivalent experience
- Ability to work independently and self-motivated
- Valid driver’s license with regular access to a vehicle with required insurance coverage
- Knowledge of fabrics, construction, and patterning, especially for stretch fabrics
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance and supply chain processes for apparel
- Excellent analytic and math skills. Able to use software to manipulate data for analysis.
- Excellent spoken and written communication.
- Previous garment fitting experience.

Pay: $45,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
