Role Summary:

Primary responsibility is partnering with our offshore team where guidance is required on payroll processing, payroll tax and system requirements with minimal supervision. Troubleshoots payroll issues, determines root cause and partners with the Payroll Team, IT, and PBPs to develop proactive measures to achieve best practices and regulatory compliance. Responsible for system testing of system enhancements/fixes and will provide support and expertise in other project work. This role is being added to coordinate area responsibilities both internally to Payroll and externally to other business units.

Key Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in a business related field or comparable Payroll experience. CPP designation recommended.

Must understand payroll fundamentals, policies and regulations.

Must have experience with reconciling financial records

Must have experience building and merging reports in Microsoft Excel

Must have 2-4 years of payroll experience. Experience in payroll conversions is highly recommended but not required.

Must be proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel and Office.

Knowledge of the Workday payroll system is a plus.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with advanced knowledge of excel preferred (i.e. pivot tables, vlookup, and sumif formulas)

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Highly organized, rigorous and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high energy environment

Must have strong analytical skills

Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn new and different topics

Demonstrated ability to work independently and is resourceful, creative and time sensitive juggling multiple projects for challenging deadlines

Role Description:

Provide processing support to the payroll team for U.S. multi state payrolls.

Support the preparation of payroll audits and reporting.

Research and resolve internal and external customer inquiries ranging from moderately complex to complex received in a timely manner. Communicating results while displaying courtesy, tact and discretion while also preserving confidentiality.

Independently performs analysis on payroll data issues and system defects; monitor and drive prompt issue resolution ensuring accuracy of end to end payroll processing by partnering with IT and escalating to management as necessary.

Collaborate with the payroll manager on tax related research related to new legislation, tax notices and registrations for new jurisdictions.
