Summary: The Cosmetologist is responsible for providing quality, professional services in manicures and pedicures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Discussing nail services and treatments with clients
Removing nail polish
Exfoliating and removing rough skin from the hands and feet
Cutting, cleaning, buffing, and shining nails
Pushing back and cutting cuticles
Massaging clients’ hands, feet, and calves
Applying wraps, artificial nails, polishes, and nail art
Interacting with other salon and spa team members to provide a seamless customer experience
Adhering to the highest standards of sanitation, including cleaning and sanitizing tools and equipment
Hair Care Duties:
Advising clients on haircare needs
Creating hairstyles for formal events
Analyzing clients’ hair, facial features, and needs to determine or recommend beauty treatments
Styling and dressing hairpieces, extensions, and wigs
Maintaining an appointment calendar through scheduling
Demonstrating and selling styling products
Learning and perfecting new styles and techniques
Maintaining and updating client records
Additional Grooming Services:
Shaving and trimming beards, mustaches, and sideburns
Waxing eyebrows and facial hair
Trimming, cutting, and shaving hair using clippers, scissors, trimmers, and razors
Applying chemical setting, straightening, or curling solutions
Using curlers, rollers, hot irons, and curling irons
Applying hair color, dye, and tints
Administering therapeutic scalp and hair treatments
Performing scalp, neck, and face massages
Applying hot towel treatments
Client Records and Customer Service:
Recording and updating client records
Approaching all guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and nametag
Ensuring safety and efficiency in hotel operations by complying with standards and regulations
Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of facilities and equipment
Providing spa tours as necessary
Promoting and selling spa merchandise
Managing appointment schedules and daily reports
Controlling inventory through proper product usage
Maintaining passing scores on treatment inspections
Assisting with front desk or locker room functions as needed
Attending meetings and training sessions
Performing other duties as requested by management
Supervisory Responsibilities: The position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Fulfillment of current State licensing requirements
2 years of experience in nail and hair care preferred
1 year of spa experience required
Knowledge of additional therapies desired
Bi-lingual preferred
CPR Certification preferred
Maintain current licenses and certifications as required
Wage and Benefits: The wage for this position is $11.79/hr plus tips and service commissions.
