One of the country’s largest fashion retailers is searching for a Project Manager to join their Photo Studio team onsite in San Francisco. In this role, you’ll sit at the center of a high-volume product photography operation by keeping shoots on schedule, products moving through the pipeline, and cross-functional teams aligned. This exciting opportunity to lead photo production operations for a massive enterprise retailer begins as a 3 month, W2 contract engagement based onsite at their photo studio in San Francisco’s Dogpatch neighborhood. The role offers competitive benefits and has a strong potential to extend beyond the Fall season to permanent employment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end daily flow of product photography, from sample arrival through final image delivery, ensuring everything stays on track and on schedule
  • Partner with Production and Creative teams to plan and schedule shoots, confirming that products, talent, and resources are ready ahead of time
  • Prioritize which products are photographed and when, based on shifting business needs and timelines
  • Manage reshoot requests and image correction workflows, resolving issues quickly and escalating when necessary
  • Maintain and update internal photography guidelines that outline how different product types should be shot
  • Act as the primary liaison between the photo studio and cross-functional partners in merchandising, digital, marketing, and post-production
  • Ensure finished assets are delivered to the right teams on time and meet established quality standards
  • Align day-to-day photo priorities with broader seasonal and marketing goals
  • Manage production tracking tools and reporting to give stakeholders clear visibility into pipeline status
  • Oversee the asset publishing process to ensure product images go live accurately and on time
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and proactively bring forward improvements
  • Support seasonal planning and help prepare the team for high-volume periods

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in photo production, project coordination, or eCommerce content operations
  • Hands-on experience managing studio or on-figure photography workflows
  • Background working alongside creative, marketing, or retail teams
  • Familiarity with eCommerce content operations and product photography environments
  • Proficiency with project management and digital asset tracking tools
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail in high-volume, fast-moving settings
  • Clear and confident communicator who can bridge creative, operational, and business-focused teams
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through
