Our client, a growing lifestyle apparel brand, is seeking a PLM Specialist to lead the implementation, optimization, and long-term management of a new Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system across the business. This is a newly created role with high visibility and strong cross-functional partnership across Merchandising, Product Development, Design, Technical Design, Production, and IT.
This position will own the end-to-end PLM project lifecycle, from gathering business requirements through launch, adoption, and post-launch enhancements. The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of technical systems knowledge, apparel product development expertise, project management skills, and a process-improvement mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, implementation, and ongoing management of a PLM system across multiple apparel divisions
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, IT, and external system vendors
- Translate product development and merchandising needs into scalable digital workflows and system solutions
- Manage style master data and help ensure data integrity across connected systems
- Create and manage detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables
- Partner cross-functionally with Merchandising, Design, Product Development, Technical Design, Production, and IT to align workflows with current business processes
- Oversee product data structures including style setup, hierarchies, attributes, BOMs, measurements, and materials libraries
- Coordinate testing, system configurations, integrations, and updates with internal and external partners
- Develop training materials and lead onboarding sessions for users and teams
- Monitor adoption, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous process improvements
- Lead change management efforts to support new digital tools and ways of working
- Track and report on KPIs related to adoption, data accuracy, and development efficiency
- Maintain strong project documentation, communication, risk assessment, and post-launch review processes
- Support seasonal product development milestones by ensuring system readiness
Qualifications
- 7–10 years of experience in apparel product development, PLM implementation, or digital transformation within fashion or consumer goods
- Strong understanding of the apparel product lifecycle from concept through production
- Experience with master data management practices in a fashion or consumer goods environment
- Proven project management experience
- Hands-on experience implementing and/or managing PLM systems such as Centric, Aptean, PTC FlexPLM, Lectra, or similar platforms
- Working knowledge of ERP, 3D design, and digital asset management systems is a plus
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or Asana, along with Excel or Google Sheets
- Experience with reporting and analytics tools; Tableau is a plus
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority
- Self-starter with a proactive, solution-oriented, and analytical mindset
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines
- Experience working with global teams and overseas vendors is a plus
