About the Role
Gina Concepts is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Product Development and Quality Control Coordinator to support the end-to-end lifecycle of our handbag and accessories business. This role is responsible for managing product development, sampling, production coordination, and quality control processes while serving as a key liaison between design, production, sales, packaging, QC, and overseas vendors.
Responsibilities:
Product Development & Sampling:
- Communicate daily with overseas factories regarding development, sampling, costing and production status via PLM systems
- Request, review, and support pricing negotiations; calculate landed costs and assist with margin validation
- Request carton dimensions and CBM data from vendors for ERP upload
- Send detailed tech packs (CBDs), specs, and development instructions to vendors
- Manage development samples, pre-production samples (PPS), and TOP samples from submission through approval
- Track shipments and sample deliveries
- Review samples against design direction and provide consolidated feedback to factories
- Source new product ideas and support design on development initiatives
- Maintain development charts aligned with time & action calendars
- Record approvals and updates in PLM and ERP systems
- Work closely with Design, Sales, Production, Packaging, QC, and Supply Chain teams
- Support customer-specific requirements including testing, packaging, and routing instructions
- Act as production support as needed (outlined below)
Production Support:
- Act as daily point of contact for overseas vendors regarding production updates, costing, and execution
- Coordinate shipment consolidation between vendors when needed
- Monitor production milestones, ETDs, and cargo-ready dates to ensure on-time delivery
- Maintain seasonal production calendars, WIP reports, and master style tracking charts
- Enter and update purchase orders and style master data in PLM/ERP systems
- Communicate and manage production delay requests with internal teams
- Update purchase and sales orders when shipment details change
- Participate in weekly production and operations meetings with leadership
- Maintain accurate reporting including production calendars, WIP reports, and milestone tracking
Quality Control & Sample Review:
- Inspect PPS and TOP samples to ensure compliance with approved specifications
- Compare production output against approved samples for accuracy in color, quality, and construction
- Track sample shipments and ensure timely receipt, review, and feedback
- Communicate clear and consolidated comments to suppliers and follow up on corrections
- Ensure proper labeling, ticket placement, and barcode compliance when applicable
- Maintain QC logs and approvals within ERP systems
- Review packaging artwork for accuracy, ensuring alignment with legal and customer requirements
- Verify all packaging details including text, color, sizing, and regulatory compliance
- Review print proofs and physical packaging samples for accuracy and quality standards
- Ensure all testing requirements are met and documentation is submitted on time
Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of experience in product development, production coordination, or quality control (fashion/accessories preferred)
- Experience working with overseas vendors and factories strongly preferred
- Proficiency with PLM and/or ERP systems
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and follow-up skills
