Position Overview
We are seeking a Product Development Assistant to support the product development team for an established specialty apparel brand. This role focuses on adult apparel categories, including skirts, dresses, woven tops, knitwear, and sweaters. The position provides day-to-day support throughout the product lifecycle, from initial development through bulk production and final delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Product Development Managers with daily product development activities.
- Assist in managing the development process from concept through production and delivery.
- Track product development timelines and ensure milestones are met.
- Coordinate product information, approvals, and documentation across multiple teams.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and development data using Microsoft Excel and internal systems.
- Communicate regularly with global sourcing and manufacturing partners regarding product updates and timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Merchandising, Design, Planning, and Technical Design to support seasonal product launches.
- Help resolve development issues by escalating concerns and following up with appropriate stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in a corporate product development, merchandising, sourcing, or apparel-related role.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to ask questions, learn, and collaborate effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or product development systems such as Centric PLM, TradeStone, Bamboo Rose, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with apparel costing tools and product development processes is a plus.
- Work closely with international sourcing and production teams across multiple regions.
