One of our major clients is currently seeking a Product Development Assistant for their NYC office.

The role would start ASAP and has potential to go perm should it be a good fit.

Role is in office 5 days a week and pays $25-30/hr depending on experience.

Must have experience in womenswear product development. they are looking for someone to start ASAP.

Job Summary:

The Product Development Assistant plays a vital role in supporting our Product Development Managers and ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of the product development process. This role involves close collaboration with designers, meticulous management of submissions and samples, and proactive communication with internal teams and external vendors. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and possesses excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Product Development: Provide direct support to Product Development Managers in all aspects of their daily responsibilities, contributing to a streamlined workflow.
  • Submission Management: Prepare, coordinate, and track all submissions (lab dips, strike-offs, bulk samples) for review by the design team, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design specifications.
  • Communication & Feedback: Distribute comments and feedback on submissions to the design team, facilitating clear and timely communication.
  • Sample Organization: Maintain a meticulously organized filing system for all incoming development samples, ensuring easy retrieval and reference.
  • Care Label Approval: Review and approve care labels, ensuring compliance with quality standards and brand guidelines.
  • Sales Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the sales department to support chase orders, meet tight deadlines, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Fabric Quality Tracking: Monitor and follow up on the quality of sourced fabrics, ensuring they meet established quality standards.
  • Vendor Coordination: Communicate with vendors regarding pending submissions, proactively seeking updates and securing necessary approvals.
  • Development Sample Tracking: Diligently track and coordinate development samples to ensure adherence to deadlines and a smooth development process.
  • PDR Tracker Maintenance: Accurately update the Product Development Report (PDR) Tracker Chart with submission information, maintaining a clear and up-to-date record of progress.
  • Dress Form Photography: Capture clear and accurate dress form photos of garments for documentation and reference.
