About the Role:

This is an opportunity to help in the creation and development of new beverages for the company.

This posting is for a role in beverage R&D, for the creation and optimization of beverages for our cafés and/or alternate business channels across the globe.

Job Title:Product Development Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

Provide assistance during tastings, including product guidance and other sensory tests

Support team by developing beverage build of materials (BOM) and recipe cards

Assist in beverage presentations and product tastings with leadership

Collect beverage ingredients analytical data (brix, pH, moisture, solids, and other physical properties) as needed

Manage ingredients shelf-life studies from storing samples to conducting testing and reporting results to the product developers.

Monitor and keep the lab organized and stocked as needed for project work

Handle incoming and outgoing shipments

Minimum Qualifications:

An associate degree or higher in Food Science, culinary or other related fields

Food and beverage preparation experience. Barista experience a plus.

Basic knowledge of math and science

Knowledge of MS office programs

Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing

Good organizational skills, ability to multi-task

Ability to work in a face pace environment

Ability to follow direction, seek guidance as necessary and provide regular progress report

Ability to work independently and as part as a team

Ability to deliver excellent customer service with attention to details

Ability to build positive and effective working relationships with other team members

Location: Seattle, WA

Salary Range:The salary for this position is between $50,000 – $60,000 annually. Factors that may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
