Responsibilities
- Lead the development of apparel products from initial concept through to final production, ensuring alignment with brand vision and market trends.
- Collaborate closely with design teams, textile suppliers, pattern makers, and manufacturers to translate artistic concepts into technical specifications.
- Utilize graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and CAD programs to create detailed sketches, technical drawings, and color palettes.
- Oversee fabric selection by evaluating textiles for durability, comfort, aesthetics, and sustainability; incorporate knowledge of textiles in industrial design into product development.
- Manage the product lifecycle process using product management tools to track progress, timelines, and quality standards throughout development stages.
- Conduct fittings and prototype reviews to refine garment construction techniques, sewing details, and overall fit.
- Ensure cross-functional communication among merchandising, marketing, manufacturing, and retail teams to streamline workflows and meet deadlines.
- Stay informed on fashion retail trends, styling techniques, and industry innovations such as 3D modeling software or garment construction advancements to enhance product offerings.
Skills
- Experience with textile selection processes in industrial design contexts; understanding of fabric properties and sustainability considerations.
- Expertise in fashion design principles, including color theory, silhouette development, and artistic concept creation.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills to coordinate effectively across creative teams, suppliers, and production partners.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling software for virtual prototyping; knowledge of fashion retail dynamics and merchandising strategies is a plus.
