Job description
Product Development Technical Design Assistant
Overview:
Established trend driven apparel manufacturer is looking to bring on Product Development/ Technical Design Assistant to join their team.
This position supports the design team by ensuring Bills of Materials (BOMs) and updating info into their PLM system.
The role involves assisting with the execution of line samples and requires someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects.
Coordinate sample execution for collections and sales presentations.
Collaborate with CAD artist, pattern makers, and sales representatives to manage store accounts
Compile pre-costing details for pre-production tech packs.
Upload BOMs (including trims, fabrics, send-outs, pattern cards, etc.)
Oversee fabric inventory, maintain the fabric library, and coordinate sourcing for costing
Maintain line sheets, fabric records, and cutting ticket documentation.
Manage send-outs by preparing purchase orders and tracking shipments.
Relay standards and qualities to Product Development Techs
Create CAD sketches as needed for design team, create tech packs, create shipping labels and more.
Required Skills & Experience:
2+ years of experience working with tech packages.
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or equivalent experience preferred.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a strong team player.
Excellent communication skills with strong follow-up abilities and a sense of urgency.
Solid understanding of tech packs, fabrics, trims, and garment construction.
Computer proficiency in Excel and Outlook; familiarity with PLM(Centric, A2000 is a plus)
