Job Purpose:
Product Manager will be responsible for all merchandising, buying, inventory management and promotion activities for the brand. The Merchandising Manager works closely with Business Manager and the team to form the merchandising strategy for the brand.
Main Responsibilities:
Developing the assortment strategy, product selection and category plans for Business manager approval
Determining product allocation, replenishment and reallocation and preparing allocation plans for Business Manager approval
Preparing sales forecasts and determining OTB Budget for Brand Manager approval
Managing product orders and product lifecycle
Determining product pricing for new arrivals and adjusting product pricing for discount items for approval by the Business Manager
Conducting detailed sales and margin analysis to drive merchandising plans and boost sales
Controlling stock levels based on forecasts for the season
Analysing every aspect of bestsellers (for example, the best-selling price points, colours or styles) and ensuring that they reach their full potential
Monitoring slow sellers and taking action to reduce prices or set promotions as necessary
Analysing the previous season and current season
Preparing the promotion strategy and promotion calendar
Managing product promotions and collaborating with the Retail Marketing Manager to plan for sales and outside promotions and events
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in merchandising, inventory management or retail marketing
Background in retail/apparel/ fashion/ fashion accessories.
Graduated in fashion or retail management is a plus
Leadership & Supervisory skill
Understanding of what motivates customers to buy particular products
Good analytical skills to work out present and future trends
Communication and team-working skills
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Negotiation skills and ability to influence others
Numeracy skills and ability to use computer modelling software (Excellent in MS Excel esp. Pivot Table, Vlook up)
