Job Summary
The Product Manager supports the product development team and process in coordinating the product lifecycle — from concept and sampling through production and delivery. This role assists in day-to-day communication and execution across Sales, Design, Technical, and Manufacturing teams (domestic and overseas) to help ensure on-time, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery across all brands and customer programs.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Product Development / Pre-Production
- Coordinate sample development, including tracking sample status, swatches, proto submissions, and approvals.
- Follow up with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of samples, materials, and costing.
- Prepare updates for cross-functional meetings and track action items to ensure follow-through.
- Assist with sample and prototype management, including yardage ordering and approvals.
- Maintain and upkeep testing, certification, and compliance documentation for fabrics, trims, and customer requirements.
- Support data entry and maintenance in PLM (YPLM) and customer-facing systems, including packaging, labeling, and ticketing.
- Track development timelines, costs, and MOQ/lead-time requirements with guidance from senior team members.
- Build and maintain accurate development and production costing files.
- Flag potential risks (timing, cost, compliance) to manager and support issue resolution with mills, factories, and overseas teams.
- Support PP and TOP sample approvals to ensure consistency between development and bulk production.
- Attend meetings as required.
Qualifications And Requirements
Experience:
- Internship / 1-2 years of experience or relevant exposure to product lifecycle processes is a plus.
- Any experience in swimwear or intimate apparel is a plus.
- Any major retailer experience is a plus.
Skills:
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-up and multitasking abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), with strong Excel skills required.
- Familiarity with PLM systems (YPLM preferred) is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Availability to communicate with overseas offices/suppliers outside standard business hours.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional, and global team environment.
- Proactive, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
Salary $75,000
