ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
What you will do
Strategy & trend intelligence
— Lead ongoing research into global fashion trends, US market dynamics, and competitive activity — with
particular focus on the American contemporary and light-luxury women’s segment.
— Analyze brand DNA, target customer profiles, and evolving consumer behaviors; synthesize media moments
and cultural signals to forecast breakout product elements (color, fabric, silhouette, styling).
— Develop annual and seasonal merchandise strategies, including product line architecture, price band planning,
go-to-market phasing, and OTB (Open-to-Buy) budgets aligned with brand positioning and financial targets.
Data-driven planning & inventory optimization
— Mine historical sell-through data to diagnose root causes behind top and bottom performers, feeding actionable
insights into future development cycles.
— Build and maintain sales forecasting models; set SKU-level reorder, production-cut, and markdown plans to
optimize inventory turn, reduce overstock risk, and improve sell-through rates.
— Monitor real-time performance across all US channels (e-commerce, wholesale, DTC retail); rapidly adjust
assortment strategy to capture upside and mitigate risk.
Product development & process management
— Partner with design and development teams to translate trend and data insights into commercially viable
product concepts appropriate for the US customer.
— Lead product review meetings, providing merchandising-lens feedback on design sketches, materials, fit, and
pricing — ensuring each product balances aesthetic appeal with commercial potential.
— Own the end-to-end product development calendar: from concept sign-off through sampling, production, and
on-time market delivery.
• In-season performance & KPI ownership
— Track post-launch sales performance against plan; initiate responsive tactical adjustments (replenishment,
markdowns, channel rebalancing).
— Own core commercial metrics: gross margin, sell-through rate, weeks of supply, inventory turn, and
stock-to-sales ratio.
• Team leadership & cross-functional collaboration
— Lead and develop the merchandise planning team; foster a culture of data fluency, fashion acuity, and rigorous
commercial discipline.
— Act as the central connector between design, sales, marketing, and supply chain — ensuring information flows
efficiently and functional priorities are aligned toward shared business outcomes.
