Position Overview:We are seeking an organized and motivated Production Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience in the apparel industry and is eager to learn all aspects of the production process—from vendor communication and sample management to data entry and logistical support. In this role, you will work closely with our production and product development teams to ensure timely and efficient product lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities:
Sample Coordination: Track, receive, and organize product samples for various apparel lines; conduct quality checks to ensure samples meet specifications; collaborate with design and merchandising teams to manage sample approvals.
Vendor Communication: Communicate with domestic and international suppliers to request quotes, follow up on production timelines, and resolve production-related issues; maintain clear and timely updates with vendors.
Data Entry & Documentation: Update purchase orders and production schedules in internal systems; create and maintain production files, ensuring all required information (spec sheets, tech packs, pricing) is readily accessible.
Logistics & Coordination: Coordinate shipments, track deliveries, and assist with inbound/outbound logistics; collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Merchandising, Sales) to meet production deadlines and deliveries.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and reduce errors in production workflows; assist with implementing best practices.
General Administrative Support: Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements for the production team; prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for production meetings.
Qualifications & Requirements:
1+ year of experience in an apparel production or related role (Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field preferred but not required)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with PLM or ERP systems is a plus
Knowledge of apparel construction, fabrics, and basic production processes
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and team collaboration
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities; adaptability and problem-solving mindset
