We seek an individual to support the company’s production process. The Production Assistant is responsible for supporting the production strategy and execution, directly involving the designer. He or she will effectively manage business relationships with our factories to leverage lower costs and reduce lead time without sacrificing quality. The production assistant will work on every aspect of product development and be responsible for the production process.
Responsibilities
Managing communications with factories/facilities.
Prepare/maintain cost sheets per style and negotiate costs with factories and partners to sustain budgetary constraints
Ability to use cost data to develop tactical responses and strategies
Develop a production calendar and meet all shipment and delivery deadlines
Monitor factories daily WIP to ensure product is held to the company’s quality expectation standards and to meet shipping deadlines
Track and allocate goods from all international agents necessary for production
Take the lead on quality control to ensure all garments are finished up to designer-level standards
Elevate and communicate high-risk potential order problems and issues as appropriate
Purchase order creation and BOM updates
Receiving PP Samples and communicating with the Design Team
Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s in design or related field
Minimum of one-year experience in the fashion industry
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Holds self and others accountable for work commitments and outcomes.
High level of complex technical problem solving.
Impeccable time management skills with great sense of urgency
Highly organized and detail oriented with great appreciation for accuracy
Basic understanding of product creation process
Experience working in wholesale business with China and big box retail stores like Costco
Ability to proactively trouble shoot, and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
Encourage team atmosphere within area and across product categories; fosters open communication in a team environment; receives constructive feedback professionally.
Salary $50,000-$65,000
