Production & Fabric Coordinator

Reports to Head of Production

YMC is looking for a Production & Fabric Coordinator to own all fabrics from lab dip through to shipping & invoicing — across our supply chain, as well as offer support to HOP on all Production related tasks. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role for someone with a strong initiative who takes real ownership.

We need someone proactive who can work to tight deadlines, communicate clearly, and problem solve confidently, with experience working under pressure and adhering to a Critical Path.

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage fabric pricing, lead times, tech sheets & ordering with mills, from initial sampling through to bulk
  • Chase lab dips, handlooms, CADs and strike-offs, and review tech sheets with the Tech department
  • Lead cross-costing exercises & source alternative fabrics when required
  • Raise and own fabric Purchase Orders against the Critical Path, flagging any at-risk dates early
  • Check, code and reconcile fabric & freight invoices with a meticulous eye before sign-off
  • Keep fabric charts, stock sheets and Zedonk records accurate and up to date
  • Identify and resolve fabric shortages and overages before they affect delivery
  • Track fabric testing and compliance documentation (flammability, organic, recycled fibres)
  • Coordinate proto and salesman sample delivery against plan dates

What we’re looking for

  • 3–4 years’ experience in a production or fabric coordination role, ideally CMT
  • Proactive and self-directed — follows up ahead of deadlines without prompting
  • Strong initiative & reliable follow-through — trusted to see tasks through to completion
  • Clear & concise communicator, confident across departments and with overseas mills and factories
  • Strong sense of urgency and good judgement on what’s time-critical
  • Comfortable with numbers — consumption calculations, costings, invoice checking
  • Confident in Excel (VLOOKUPs); Zedonk experience a plus
  • Strong fabric knowledge and a sharp eye for detail
  • Fashion-related further education

YMC is a small team — we’re looking for someone proactive who can be trusted to run with things independently, communicate clearly, and act as a genuine extension of the Head of Production.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.

Full-time role based in our Kentish Town office with option to WFH 1 day per week after probation period.
