Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Production Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in managing production teams, including karigars, stitching masters, and stockists, in the apparel/textile industry. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process, from planning and scheduling to execution and delivery, ensuring timely completion of orders while maintaining high quality standards.

Responsibilities:

Production Planning and Scheduling:

Develop and implement comprehensive production plans and schedules to meet order deadlines and optimize resource utilization.

Forecast production requirements, including raw materials, labor, and equipment.

Monitor production progress and make necessary adjustments to schedules as needed.

Team Management:

Lead and manage a team of karigars, stitching masters, and stockists, providing guidance, training, and motivation.

Delegate tasks effectively, monitor performance, and address any team-related issues.

Ensure a safe and productive working environment for the production team.

Quality Control:

Establish and maintain quality control standards throughout the production process.

Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to quality requirements.

Identify and address any quality issues promptly.

Production Execution:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the production floor, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.

Troubleshoot production problems and implement solutions to minimize delays.

Coordinate with other departments, such as design, sourcing, and logistics, to ensure seamless production flow.

Cost Management:

Monitor production costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.

Negotiate rates with suppliers and vendors.

Optimize resource utilization to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.

Inventory Management:

Manage inventory levels of raw materials, finished goods, and work-in-progress.

Implement inventory control systems to track stock movement and minimize stockouts.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify areas for improvement in production processes and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies to improve production capabilities.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 8 years of experience in production management in the apparel/textile industry.

Proven experience in managing teams of karigars, stitching masters, and stockists.

Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and sewing techniques.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work under pressure and 1 meet tight deadlines.  

Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., MS Office Suite, production planning software).

Knowledge of fabric and trim sourcing.

Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and pattern drawings.

Preferred Qualifications:

Diploma or degree in fashion merchandising, apparel production, or a related field.

Experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles.
