Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Production Coordinator role based in New York, NY. The Production Coordinator will oversee end-to-end production for seasonal collections and custom orders, including managing calendars, tracking samples and bulk orders, and ensuring on-time delivery. Responsibilities include coordinating with pattern makers, graders, cutters, and sewing rooms; sourcing and ordering fabrics and trims; and maintaining accurate production records, spec sheets, and bill of materials. The role will monitor quality control at each stage, organize fittings, address fit or construction issues, and implement improvements to production processes. The Production Coordinator will also manage vendor relationships, negotiate timelines where appropriate, support small-batch and made-to-order workflows, and partner closely with the founder on translating designs into efficient, scalable production.
Qualifications
- Strong production management skills in apparel or evening wear, including managing calendars, tracking workflows, and coordinating multiple styles and custom pieces.
- Hands-on experience working with factories, ateliers, or vendors in the Garment District or similar environments, including scheduling, follow-ups, and relationship management.
- Knowledge of garment construction, fabric behavior (particularly evening and bridal fabrics), and basic pattern or technical design concepts to collaborate effectively with makers.
- Proficiency with production documentation and tools, such as tech packs, spec sheets, bills of materials, and basic spreadsheet or project management software.
- Demonstrated quality control experience, with an eye for fit, finishing, and detail, and the ability to troubleshoot production issues quickly.
- Excellent organization, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, small-team environment.
- Clear, professional communication skills and collaborative mindset when working with designers, vendors, and internal partners.
- Experience in luxury, bridal, or evening wear production is strongly preferred; familiarity with made-to-order or small-batch production is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Production, Fashion Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in garment production.
