We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Recruiting Coordinator to be the first key hire in our People Operations team. As a Recruiting Coordinator at Short Story, you will ignite our growth by helping us assemble a team of butt-kicking, passionate individuals who want to make a difference. We’re looking for an optimist with grit and determination, who is excited to face the challenges of a growing startup.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with the founding team to help us scale from a 84 person team to several times this size

Help design an unforgettable candidate experience and become a candidate advocate

Coordinate and schedule interviews with top-notch efficiency

Successfully manage multiple candidates and calendars to seamlessly coordinate high-volume and fast-paced interview activity on the technical team

Track key recruiting metrics and ensure candidate records in our applicant tracking system (Greenhouse) are organized and up-to-date

Eagerly respond to candidate inquiries via phone and email

Work with the founding team to refine our recruiting process

Successfully deliver on all deadlines and flawlessly execute in a fast-paced, startup environment

Minimum Qualifications:

3 years in a recruiting coordinator role or in a role of similarly relevant work experience in a dynamic and fast-paced tech startup

Ability to work at our SF office in Mission Bay

A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset

Your interpersonal skills are next level, and you never drop the ball

You’re self-motivated, able to work independently as well as in partnership with department heads and cross-functional teams

Ability to balance expertise with creativity and innovation when it comes to improving our process, practices, and recruiting brand

Ability to be scrappy and resourceful with minimal to no guidance

Other Qualifications

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think analytically while working in a fast-paced startup environment

Entrepreneurial mindset: You must be comfortable and confident where your ideas and efforts will have a direct impact on company processes

Expertise in verbal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders

Previous experience working in ecommerce or a tech startup is a plus

Must be able to wear many hats with a hands-on, ready to go attitude

Must be flexible and accept change readily with a driven and positive mindset
