The Group would like to expand its Retail Footprint and leverage the trust and synergy built over the years in luxury retail by launching a Jewellery Business in India. India’s gems and Jewellery market contributed around 7% to GDP and 14% to India’s total merchandize export in February’21 with a market size was at US$ 78.50 billion in FY21. The jewellery industry in India is largely driven by individual family owned small to medium size businesses. Thus, the Group anticipates that there is scope of development of large retailers / brand in jewellery industry in near future. The venture will benefit from the retail experience, knowhow and trust build over the years with various ABG Luxury Retail Brands. It will also be able to harness the people, technical and operational capabilities from Group’s retail arms. The range will be developed as a proof of concept for an integrated offering and may be diversified with multiple brands post establishment of a commercially viable business model.
The business has successfully launched 10 stores by Oct’ 2024 under the brand name Indriya and the initial customer response has been very encouraging.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Business Planning, Budgeting & Variance Analysis:
Responsibilities:
Discuss Annual Operating Plan with Sales / Retail Team
Coordinate with HR / Admin Team and Sales / Retail Team to help gather inputs for regional expenditure projection
Ensure submission of budgets to HO Commercial within agreed timelines
Present variance analysis to Sales / Retail Team in Monthly Review Meeting
Present Store Profitability Report in Monthly Review Meet
Key Metrics:
Cost Control
Store Profitability & Budget Reporting & Performance Tracking
Deviations from projections
Adherence to timelines
Inventory Management
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily and monthly physical stock counts in collaboration with Store Commercial Managers and HO Commercial.
Track and ensure timely dispatch of accumulated Old Gold (OG) to the warehouse
Work closely with store for internal and external physical inventory counts, taking necessary action on discrepancies
Ensure GRNs for inventory, consumption, packaging material, and fixed assets as per SLA
Assist store in resolving weight deviations or discrepancies during transit
Key Metrics:
Weekly Report on Old Gold
Shrinkage & Discrepancy Reporting & Action Plan
Daily & Monthly Stock count Compliance with nil variance
Debtor & Accounts Payable Management
Responsibilities:
Partner with Retail / Sales Team in Debtors management
Ensure 100% balance confirmation from all business associates
