Duties
- Manage daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory control to ensure smooth store functioning.
- Lead, motivate, and supervise retail staff to achieve sales targets, deliver outstanding customer service, and maintain a positive shopping experience.
- Oversee merchandising strategies, including product placement, pricing accuracy, and stock replenishment to maximize sales opportunities.
- Conduct employee orientation, training & development sessions to enhance team skills in sales techniques, POS systems, and customer engagement.
- Monitor inventory levels through effective stock management practices; oversee purchasing and inventory control to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Ensure compliance with operational policies such as payroll processing, bookkeeping, cash handling procedures, and health & safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry with supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster a collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable for engaging diverse customer bases.
- Demonstrated proficiency in POS systems, retail math, pricing strategies, and sales management techniques.
- Experience in inventory management, purchasing, merchandising, and stock control practices.
- Knowledge of payroll processing, cash handling, and basic administrative functions.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities with excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Previous experience in grocery stores or wireless sales is a plus but not required; a background in retail sales team management is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills including phone etiquette and customer service excellence; supervisory experience is preferred.
