Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Retail Director to oversee the full operations of around 10 retail stores in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales performance, ensuring excellent customer experience, optimizing operational efficiency, controlling costs, and maintaining brand standards across all stores. You will lead and develop a team of Store Managers to achieve business targets and support the company’s growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and operational management for apparel retail stores, including sales, inventory control, visual merchandising, customer service, and team management.
- Develop and execute store operations strategies to consistently meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets (KPIs).
- Conduct regular store visits to monitor performance, identify issues, and provide on-the-spot coaching and action plans for improvement.
- Lead, motivate, and develop Store Managers and supervisors through performance reviews, training programs, and talent development initiatives.
- Optimize manpower planning and scheduling to control labor costs while maintaining adequate staffing levels and service standards.
- Manage inventory levels, monitor stock movement, minimize shrinkage and dead stock, and collaborate closely with the buying and merchandising teams.
- Ensure all stores strictly comply with company operational standards, visual merchandising guidelines (VM), cleanliness, health & safety regulations.
- Analyze sales data, customer feedback, and operational reports to identify trends and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive the successful execution of promotional campaigns, seasonal activities, and marketing initiatives to boost sales and brand visibility.
- Handle escalated customer complaints and crisis situations effectively to maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with head office departments (Buying, Marketing, Finance, HR, etc.) to ensure smooth cross-functional collaboration.
- Support new store openings, store renovations, and expansion projects from an operational perspective.
- Continuously improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and profitability.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of relevant retail experience, with at least 4–5 years in a multi-unit operations role (Multi-Store / Area / District Manager level).
- Proven track record in managing 8 or more retail stores is essential.
- Strong background in apparel/fashion retail is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and develop teams at different levels.
- Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, POS systems, and retail management software
- Good sense of fashion trends, visual merchandising, and customer shopping experience.
- Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Result-oriented, able to work independently under pressure and handle a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin).
- Willingness to travel frequently for store visits and work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
