Misha & Puff is seeking a customer service-oriented and sales motivated Part-time Retail Sales Associate to join us at the Misha & Puff retail outlet store in the founder’s hometown of Newburyport, MA. Candidates must have some weekend availability.
Our Retail Sales Associates find joy in fulfilling their customers’ wishlists of handcrafted knitwear and gifts while remaining open and curious to enhance every visitor’s experience beyond a transaction. They will authentically connect with customers to win both sales and long-term community loyalty. In addition to being trusted product experts and brand guides for our highly engaged customers, Retail Sales Associates own day-to-day shop operations, stock replenishment, internal communication, and event prep. They represent Misha & Puff’s sustainable vision and values with each day’s opening and during each special event – including our annual Sample Sale in July.
Job Responsibilities:
- Meet and exceed sales goals by providing a full-service shop experience, anticipating customer needs in-store, clienteling via email inquiries and seamlessly fulfilling remote orders.
- Proactively create a welcoming atmosphere and communicate expert product knowledge with ease.
- Help guests create outfits, find sizes, and make product recommendations.
- Operate a register and accurately ring sales, returns, and charge-sends on Mac POS.
- Meticulously maintain CRM, new customer input, and reconciliation.
- Support the Retail Manager to collaborate with cross-team members to manage inventory and maintenance needs.
- Assist our customers by answering their texts and emails to the store’s own email and phone number.
- Represent the values, vision, and people-first culture of our sustainable mission.
Preferred Qualifications
- Approachable, professional demeanor with an innate drive for customer satisfaction and sales alike
- Strong retail sales and styling experience or equivalent
- Strong organizational skills and Mac, Excel, Word, Google, POS, and iPad proficient
- Able to sit and stand up to 8 hours a day, and lift up to 40 lbs
- Full English fluency
- Open to working additional shifts as needed – we have events in the new england area that are staffed by many members of the Misha & Puff team
Exceptional candidates will also have some of the following:
- Direct experience with knitwear garment construction and care, luxury children’s and women’s fashion, and knowledge of the Misha & Puff brand
- Alignment with sustainable and ethical fashion space and mission
- Shopify expertise or equivalent retail inventory management and POS experience
- Ability to travel within the Boston area for inventory management and event needs
- Luxury personal shopping or clienteling sales experience
