Position Summary:
Fashion Nova is seeking a highly experienced and proactive Safety Manager (SM) to lead and manage safety programs in a dynamic, fast-paced eCommerce environment. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, reducing workplace incidents, and fostering a strong culture of safety throughout the organization. The Safety Manager will partner with leadership and front-line teams to develop, implement, and monitor safety initiatives that align with operational goals and prioritize employee well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and manage safety policies, procedures, and programs across the organization.
Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments; identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Analyze safety performance data and trends; report findings to senior management with actionable improvement strategies.
Provide training to employees and leadership on safety best practices, emergency response, and accident prevention.
Ensure compliance with OSHA/CalOSHA and all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
Lead thorough investigations of workplace incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventative measures.
Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries, support, and guidance.
Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate safety into operational planning and decision-making.
Promote continuous improvement by engaging employees at all levels in safety initiatives and feedback.
Ensure safety equipment and resources are properly maintained, accessible, and compliant.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a safety management role, preferably within a distribution, manufacturing, or eCommerce environment.
Strong knowledge of OSHA/CalOSHA guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Proven track record of implementing effective safety programs that reduce incidents and improve compliance.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead safety trainings and deliver clear guidance.
Strong problem-solving abilities, especially in root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
Safety certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) are highly desirable.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Physical Requirements:
Extended periods of sitting at a desk using a computer for reports, documentation, and communication.
Regular walking through warehouse and office spaces to monitor operations and support employees.
Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds (e.g., office materials, safety equipment).
Clear visual and auditory abilities to review documents, observe environments, and communicate effectively.
Verbal communication required for in-person, phone, and video meetings; active listening skills are essential.
