Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven Sales Director to lead sales growth and manage key wholesale accounts across multiple channels. This individual will play a critical role in driving revenue, developing strategic partnerships, and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver compelling assortments that align with both customer needs and overall business objectives.

The ideal candidate brings a strong wholesale sales background within apparel or consumer products, deep knowledge of the retail landscape, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution. This person should be highly analytical, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales growth across existing and new wholesale accounts while identifying opportunities to expand market share and distribution channels
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key retailers, buyers, and account partners
  • Collaborate closely with Design, Merchandising, Planning, and Production teams to build customer-focused assortments and seasonal strategies
  • Partner with internal teams to develop customer-specific line plans that align with overall brand direction and financial goals
  • Present seasonal collections and business strategies to key accounts and retail partners
  • Oversee order management process including bookings, deliveries, allocations, shipping updates, and distribution changes
  • Work closely with Customer Service and Operations teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and resolve issues proactively
  • Analyze weekly sales performance, inventory levels, margins, stock turn, and retail trends to identify opportunities for growth and improved performance
  • Recommend merchandising, reorder, markdown, and assortment strategies to maximize sales and profitability
  • Partner with Finance and Operations teams to manage credit, shipping, invoicing, and backend sales processes
  • Travel regularly to visit accounts, retail locations, and regional leadership teams to strengthen partnerships and support business growth
  • Mentor and support junior sales team members by providing guidance on account management, presentations, and sales strategy
  • Maintain strong awareness of market trends, competitive landscape, and retailer performance across the industry
  • Contribute positively to team culture through strong communication, collaboration, and ownership of responsibilities

Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years of wholesale sales experience within apparel, children’s product, or consumer goods industries preferred
  • Strong understanding of the retail and wholesale marketplace
  • Experience managing and growing major retail accounts
  • Proven ability to drive revenue growth and build long-term customer relationships
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data, inventory, and financial metrics
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to travel as needed

Salary $120,000-$140,000
