Role Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Country Manager for a leading footwear brands operations in India. The Country Manager will be responsible for driving growth, profitability, and brand awareness in the Indian market. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, market analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives. The role will also include developing new partner relationships and nurturing the existing ones to drive the business towards the desired goals. The job will entail demonstration of strong business acumen, such as understanding of the business practices, knowledge of current and upcoming policies, trends, technology, competitors and latest strategies and tactics used in the marketplace.

Role Responsibilities

Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy for the India market, including short-term and long-term goals, market positioning, and product strategies.

Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify opportunities, trends, and challenges in the Indian footwear industry.

Revenue Growth: Drive revenue and profit growth by overseeing sales, marketing, and distribution strategies. Brand Management: Ensure the brand is well-represented and promoted in India, maintaining brand consistency and integrity.

Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day operations, including supply chain management, retail operations, and e-commerce.

Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team, setting clear goals and expectations, and providing mentorship and development opportunities.

Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to ensure profitability and cost-effectiveness.

Partnership and Alliances: Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including retailers, distributors, and strategic partners.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local laws and regulations, as well as company policies and standards.

Reporting: Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on key performance metrics, market trends, and strategic initiatives.

Build and maintain a high-performance culture through effective performance management, communication and coaching of staff

Ensure collaboration with key stakeholders at local, global and regional teams to drive business results

About You

Degree or MBA with at least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in the footwear, apparel, and fashion retail industry.

Demonstrate an intellectual and professional leadership style.

In-depth knowledge of the Indian market, consumer preferences, and retail landscape.

Has good problem-solving skills. Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions;

Should be able to deal with ambiguity. Can effectively cope with change, handle risk and uncertainty.

Should demonstrate Strategic agility. Sees ahead clearly; can anticipate future consequences and trends accurately; has broad knowledge and perspective; is future oriented; can articulately paint credible pictures and visions of possibilities and likelihoods; can create competitive and breakthrough strategies and plans.
