We are seeking a Sales Planning Manager to join a fast-paced, growth-oriented team in New York City. This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, highly detail-oriented, and excited by the opportunity to influence sales strategy, inventory planning, and account performance within a dynamic consumer brand environment.
In this position, you will help drive financial goals by forecasting inventory needs, analyzing sales performance, and developing strategic plans across key accounts. You will partner closely with account teams to build detailed financial plans, support promotions, optimize product assortments, and identify opportunities for growth.
What You’ll Do
- Forecast inventory needs to support financial goals across dropship and key accounts
- Analyze item-level sales and stock performance to optimize inventory and reorders
- Develop account-level sales strategies in partnership with account owners and cross-functional teams
- Create key item sales plans and support product assortment strategies for major accounts
- Translate high-level targets and wholesale strategies into detailed financial plans
- Conduct hindsight analysis to identify risks and opportunities
- Plan monthly buys to align with sales plans and category growth objectives
- Evaluate style and color forecasts to ensure strong item performance
- Use data and trend analysis to help close gaps and improve business outcomes
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
- 5+ years of experience in sales, sales planning, analytics, retail, or wholesale
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Experience working with planning tools or systems, or the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Manager-level experience preferred; direct report experience is not required
- Experience in footwear is a strong plus
- Interest in consumer products, fashion, or retail-driven businesses is a plus
