This position requires you to be motivated, hard working and excited to increase your skill level. Attention to detail is also crucial. Your roll is to help me run my business easier and more efficiently, and in turn I will teach you everything from posing clients for photos to starting and running a business, including planning for retirement. You must practice on your own time and send updates on what you have practiced. I am also happy to work on models with you. You will start out as an Assistant doing basic duties to help lead stylist in staying on track throughout the day and learning/shadowing the stylist. Stylist will provide some training, as well as pay for 1 to 2 outside education classes per year. I am a Wella Master color expert and a blonde specialist and have taken considerable education as well as assisting for over 4 years some top colorists in the area. Taking on new responsibilities will be assessed in categories to see what you are comfortable doing and see what would need to be worked on.
As being a self starter is imperative I will compensate additionally for more advanced tasks/skills you learn and up selling clients. As well as retail commissions.
Qualifications
RELIABLE – My assistant is my right hand and having someone dependable is crucial
Strong customer service and communication skills
Proficient in basic hair styling and sanitation practices
Experience with hair extensions and makeup application
Familiarity with salon software, particularly Square
Ability to upsell services and products effectively
Social media proficiency is a bonus
