Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Seamstress/Alterations Specialist to join our dynamic team among 3 dry cleaning stores. In this vital role, you will bring garments to life by expertly performing sewing, alterations, and repairs. Your craftsmanship will ensure our customers leave feeling confident and satisfied with their perfect-fit clothing. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine technical sewing skills with exceptional customer service in a lively retail environment. You will be paid by the work that you do. If you take a job for $20, you keep $10 and the store gets $10. Paid bi weekly. 50/50 pay rate.
Duties
- Perform alterations on a variety of garments, including hemming, resizing, taking in or letting out seams, and repairing tears or damages
- Use sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to ensure high-quality finishes and durability
- Assist customers by understanding their alteration needs and providing expert advice on garment adjustments
- Work from home, with delivery and pick up at head store.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals while maintaining quality standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sewing, garment construction, or alterations within a fashion retail setting or similar environment
- Proficiency with sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques
- Strong understanding of garment fitting, fabric types, and sewing patterns
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Basic math skills for measuring fabrics, taking accurate measurements, and calculating adjustments
- Knowledge of fashion retail operations is a plus but not required
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
