Responsibilities
- Perform garment construction, alterations, and repairs with precision using sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques
- Measure clients accurately to ensure perfect fit adjustments and customizations
- Assist customers by offering expert advice on garment fitting, fabric choices, and styling options
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all sewing tools and equipment are in excellent condition
- Collaborate with team members to manage multiple projects efficiently while meeting deadlines
- Use basic math skills to calculate measurements, fabric quantities, and adjustments accurately
- Ensure all garments are finished to the highest quality standards before delivery or customer pickup
Experience
- Proven experience in sewing, garment construction, or tailoring within a fashion retail setting or similar environment
- Familiarity with sewing machines and various stitching techniques required for different fabrics and designs
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients
- Knowledge of fashion retail operations and the ability to adapt to fast-paced work environments
- Basic math skills for measurements, fabric calculations, and alterations planning
